Meet Dr. Sheila Esfandiari
A Love for Helping Others
Being an orthodontist enables me to enhance the quality of each patient’s life. Straightening a person’s teeth does more than create an attractive smile: it improves your oral health, grows self-esteem and increases the confidence you bring to everyday interactions.
It’s a joy to spend my days surrounded by people who’ve decided to make a positive and lasting change in their lives. I learn from my patients and enjoy our conversations. I appreciate each unique personality and the challenges and experiences everyone brings to our office. Their energy and excitement at getting a new smile are contagious!
I’m proud of my team — we’ve been together for more than ten years — and the practice we’ve built. Each of us strives to deliver the most comfortable care and keep our patients smiling while they develop their new smile. We’re patient-focused in everything we do. We want to make the orthodontic experience enjoyable, one that our patients look back on fondly.
Education and Commitment to Continuing Education
I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors at Howard University College of Dentistry in 1994. I remained at Howard for my postgraduate orthodontic training. That education gave me an excellent understanding of orthodontics and oral healthcare.
However, this is a constantly evolving specialty. Advances in technology, techniques and materials all mean better care and even stronger results for patients. I want to be the best orthodontist and provide my patients with the best care options; completing many hours of continuing education ensures I meet my commitment to my patients’ welfare.
I attend national orthodontic and dental conferences. I also participate in local study clubs, to learn with and from my peers. Additionally, I remain current with research and treatment modality discussions through orthodontic and dental journals.

Personal Life
I’ve been married for almost 20 years and we have a daughter and a dog. Our family loves to travel, explore new places and try different foods.
I’m passionate about photography, enjoy reading and love taking care of my family. I’m also devoted to children’s welfare and am involved with many nonprofits. I make custom jewelry, too: It’s a trade that I learned as a teenager and that I’ve enhanced with my wire-bending techniques as an orthodontist!
